Our season ends against Front Range Christian

March 1, 2009

Our final game of the season was well played and hard fought. Fortune didn’t bounce our way, but the Mustangs should feel proud. Great game, guys.

Trevor drove the game like the champ he is.

Front Range had a strong defense. Ian sneaks one through.

The game’s intensity — captured in 1/250th of a second. Robert Broman makes the shot.

By this time, every shot counted. We tied it up at the end, but lost in overtime.

Good job guys. We look forward to next year …

A big W against Arrupe Jesuit

January 27, 2009

Saturday’s 47-39 win against Arrupe Jesuit wasn’t particularly pretty —- we gave up a 9-point first-minute lead and had to fight the rest of the game — but the Varsity Mustangs played like champs and got ‘er done.

Robert Broman, trying to disappoint Jesuit’s No. 32.

December 6, 2008

“Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.”

41-30 loss against Jefferson Academy

March 2, 2008

The ‘Stangs gave it everything in the conference final, but it wasn’t quite enough for this highly organized and aggressive team.

The good news: Our boys finished 2nd in conference, and they play at regionals next Saturday (both firsts for Dawson).

Conference Championship Time!

March 1, 2008

Mustangs stage 4th quarter comeback in epic defensive battle to win in a thriller 43-42. Neither team established control throughout the game, as lead changes were common.  Dawson lead by a point to the end the 1st quarter, trailed by a point at the half and two points going into the 4th. Trevor Horwith once again throttles one of the leading scorers in Colorado, as Big Rob and Cory combine for double digit blocked shots, and hold Heritage Christain to 41 points less than their previous district contest Tuesday night.
